The "Klassentreffen" exhibition from 29 January to 29 May 2016 will feature master-class students of Annette Schröter at the Leipzig Academy of Fine Arts (HGB) between 2006 and 2016.
During ten years lecturing as a Professor at the Leipzig Academy of Fine Arts, Annette Schröter has supervised 21 students in the two-year master student course following their degree.
The "Klassentreffen" exhibition combines current works by every master student - from the first ones in 2006 up to the current five-strong master class. Although the focal point of the training in Schröter's class is painting based on picture objects, the exhibition clearly shows the diversity of the creative ways of expression which Professor Schröter has promoted.
Whether their works are produced in a small format or in an expansive style, or are painted, printed, drawn and created digitally or analogically, Annette Schröter tutors her students formally and thematically on their road to artistic independence - without changing them through her signature.
"Klassentreffen", the title of the exhibition, is ambiguous. It may mean a reunion of former fellow students during which they recount all kinds of experiences since their time at school together. At the Leipzig Academy of Fine Arts, however, a "Klassentreffen" represents regular meetings of all the students in a special class.
