This year 'Förderstiftung Leipziger Stadtbad' has two good reasons to celebrate. Exactly 100 years ago the baths, a cherished historical monument in Eutritzscher Straße, were officially opened. At the same time, this year the 'Förderstiftung' can look back on 10 years of successful activity.
Over a period of eight days there will be a varied programme of events at what once was Europe's very first wave pool. Leipzig's municipal baths are closely linked to the history of the city. "For countless residents of Leipzig the baths are part of their personal history, as is shown by the donations which support the efforts of our organisation. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks for their generosity. With our festival week we will be celebrating not just this major anniversary, but also everything that has been achieved so far", states Dirk Thärichen, Chairman of the Förderstiftung.
