"In the brochure, we provide information about our services and give useful tips on waste avoidance, separation and disposal," explains Thomas Kretzschmar, Chief Operations Manager.
Important for all recipients: On the back of the guide is the authorisation card enabling use of the recycling centres.
However, the recycling centres can still be used by showing an identity card or registration form.
Distribution until 29.12.2018
The informative and clearly-arranged brochure is distributed directly to the letterboxes of more than 350,000 Leipzig households by the Deutsche Post. The authorisation card is valid until further notice.
If you have not received a guide by then, from 1 January 2019 you can pick it up at the pay desk of the city council in Geithainer Straße 60: Contact and opening hours. You must prove that you live in Leipzig (identity card, registration form, etc.). In future, newcomers to Leipzig will also receive their guide at the pay desk.
Guide to help with waste issues
"Anyone who has the guide to hand in a drawer throughout the year can see at a glance what can be disposed of, for example, in the organic waste bin, in the Yellow Bin Plus or at the contaminants reception desk," explains Elke Franz, Commercial Operations Manager. "We are also taking this opportunity to inform even more citizens of our free online gift market, since too many well-preserved objects such as furniture are still being are thrown away."
Furthermore, in the guide, Stadtreinigung Leipzig (the Leipzig City Cleaning Company) offers clear recommendations for action, detailing how each and every one of us can contribute to a cleaner city of Leipzig and thus to better quality of life.
